Jennifer Merredew is a muralist who specialises in traditional Scottish painted ceilings. The practice originated in the sixteenth century, introduced by journeying artists from the Netherlands, though it is medieval in feeling. Her work recalls a forgotten, vibrant art.

Unsurprisingly, many clients live in castles in Scotland - Jennifer has worked for Historic Scotland at Stirling Castle - but her work is versatile and adaptable. Working often on a large scale on walls and ceilings, she will incorporate images of dogs, children and family crests.
