Often a neglected room decoratively, bathrooms present many opportunities for creating mood, drama and individuality.

The bath and cabinets in the en suite bathroom were decorated with features from the fabric in the adjoining bedroom. The surfaces were all previously painted with a marble finish.

The seat was decorated to co-ordinate with the original ornate floral painting on the ceramic toilet bowl.

Painted for the same clients as the previous 'Floral & bird motif' as a delicate counterpoint to the robust marble and plant motif of the bath.

This bathroom in an Edinburgh apartment was painted with panels and embellished with Pompeiian decoration. The painting was afterwards "distressed" to soften the look.

The large painting, commissioned by the owners of Stobo Castle, Health Spa in Peebles, was painted off-site, on Panels and installed on the wall of the Swimming Pool, to give a focal point, and to give the Clients in the jacuzzi something to look at whilst relaxing.

This charming bathroom, painted for a Thai Client, had been decorated with painted panels, and enriched with gold leaf details. My job here was to fill the panels with images taken from traditional Thai paintings.

There is a renewed interest in the free standing bath tub, as a feature in the bathroom, and what an excellent opportunity this is for decoration. |
